Freya’s Hair Salve takes its namesake from the Norse of love and fertility, and the most beautiful and propitious of the goddesses. She is the patron goddess of crops and birth, the symbol of sensuality and was called upon in matters of love. She loves music, spring and flowers, and is particularly fond of the elves (fairies).
A lighter, airier salve, Freya’s Hair Salve heals and protects the ends of hair. Although there is no way to mend split ends, this butter will help damaged hair by smoothing the cuticle, helping to keep dry ends moisturized, and prevent protein loss. This salve is protein-free. It has a clean unisex scent reminiscent of a winter forest draped with newfallen snow.
The 8 oz size is perfect for refilling smaller containers or frequent deep treatments.
Instructions & Storage
Post-Shower End Protection: Rub a pea-sized dollop between the palms. Starting at the very ends of towel-dried hair, press palms gently together and slide over the ends of the hair. Repeat as necessary, starting up higher on the length of the hair each time until palms are clean of salve. If hair appears greasy when dry, use a smaller amount next time and apply carefully, being mindful to spread the salve evenly. With only such a small amount needed, this jar will last you a very long time!
Deep Treatment: Apply liberally to length of damp or dry hair, let sit under shower cap for 1-2 hours. Wash.
Storage: As unrefined coconut oil melts at 24-25°C (76°F), this product may separate at warmer temperatures and should be stored in a cool place. If it has separated, simply place in the refrigerator and stir often until it is again a solid cream. Panacea’s Hair Salve has a shelf life of two years unrefrigerated, longer if kept cool.
Freya’s Hair Salve is free of parabens, silicones, synthetic fragrances, and artificial coloring agents.
